California Transparency in Supply Chains Act

The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 went into effect on January 1, 2012, with the goal of eliminating slavery and human trafficking from global product supply chains through increased disclosure of corporate actions.

We at Pet Food Express are committed to socially responsible behavior. Treatment with dignity and respect, safe working conditions, and fair compensation should be a universal reality in the workplace, and we are pleased to see new legislation making this a priority.

Pet Food Express expects our suppliers to comply with all applicable international and local laws, rules and regulations during the manufacture and distribution of merchandise sold in our stores. Though at this time we do not engage in verification, audits, or certification requirements of our suppliers to evaluate and address the risk of human trafficking or slavery, we certainly do not intentionally or knowingly do business with any company or person that uses slaves or subjects people to trafficking.

In order to promote prevention of slavery and human trafficking, we do provide mandatory education, particularly with respect to mitigating risks within the supply chain of products, to all employees and management directly responsible for supply chain management.

We understand and appreciate that companies have an important responsibility to make a stand on this unfortunate global issue.
